Study and Advancement

Study

Knowledge brings on understanding; it is our diversity and the sharing of each other’s experiences that makes us grow. At each parlor, the dreaming will hold a study. Household Elders will decide which topics should be delved into. The family is expected to choose one from the offered topics, to research and learn throughout the month individually. Findings will be presented and discussed at the next parlor.

Advancement

A minimum of a year and a day are required for advancement in addition to:

Valors

  • Recognized distinctions resulting from outstanding deeds and accomplishments. A minimum of 10 valors is required for advancement.

Participation

  • Required: Members must participate in a minimum of 9 parlors per calendar year to be eligible for advancement.

Dedicant Absence

  • Any dedicant who is unable to dedicate time toward House business (projects, assignments, parlors…) for the duration of three consecutive months, will automatically lose Dedicant status.
  • Loss of access to all circles except Outer Circle
  • Removal of name from House Dedicant list

Individual is welcome to pursue full membership with our House after a minimum period of six months by following the normal Dedication procedure.

Accepted Dedicant Absence

  • Once notified of acceptance to full membership of the House, Dedicants have 30 days in which to schedule their initiation ceremony to take place as soon as possible inside of 3 months (Dedicants residing over 500 miles away from homebase have 60 days to schedule initiation ceremony to take place inside of 6 months). Failure to do so, will result in
  • Loss of access to all Circles except Outer Circle
  • Removal of name from House Dedicant list
  • Loss of voting privileges

Leave of Absence

  • Any full member who is unable to demonstrate input or contributions toward House business may announce a leave of absence. The member is expected to provide return date and contact us at that point. By announcing a leave of absence, the member will ensure:
  • Continuation of full access to all House discussion forums
  • Name and contact information will continue to appear on House Membership List
  • Voting will be considered “OL” (On Leave)

Any announced leave for a duration of 6 consecutive months, will automatically be considered Dormancy.

Dormancy

  • Any full member who without notice demonstrates lack of contribution or input toward House business for 3 consecutive months, will automatically be considered “Dormant”.
  • Member will be contacted (via e-mail & phone) with a questionaire.
  • Dormant members will lose access to all forums except Outer Circle
  • Dormant member’s name will continue to appear in House Membership List and contact information will be made private.
  • Dormant member’s name will not be counted in any voting.

Dormant members are family and are welcome back upon request and deliberation.

Ordeals

Test of character individually issued by the Elders of the Household as pre-qualifiers for rites of passage ie: Initiation, Calmaeship and Elderhood.
