The Collective
House of the Dreaming in conjunction with Vampyre Lounge and with the participation of the Vampyre Society at-large is hosting an exciting video program called the Collective. It features a series of interviews with various Modern Day Vampires, Community Leaders, and other individuals. Each interview will be designed to independently focus on specific topics of community interest. House of the Dreaming and Vampyre Lounge are non-partisan in our approach and hope to provide as many perspectives as possible from all angles of community interest. Birthdays!
House of the Dreaming celebrated the Solar Returns of 2 of its members! Lady Aislin and Ezikiel Tempted are this quarter's birthday celebrants. May their birthdays have been fun-filled and the coming year hold much excitement for them.
Savannah, GA Gathering
Hosted by Madame X, Aislin Ni MorRhiaghan, Alterra Von Feuers and Ezikiel Tempted, a gathering was held in Savannah, GA September 23 through 27th and attended by Dedicants Adora and Samandryel, and a few other friends. It included dinner with Aislin, attending Samandryel’s magic show, Pagan Pride Day with special presentations lead by Madame X and Lady Aislin, house rituals, a trip to Tybee Island, a drag show and dancing at Club One, and a Sangria photo night.
Informal New Orleans, LA Gathering
HotD conducted an informal gathering in New Orleans on October 27 through the 31st in New Orleans, Louisiana, attended by House Member Alterra Von Feuers, and Dedicants Yami and Adora, plus friends. Events included bar hopping, various trips to Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, shopping in the French Quarter, where the highlight was the Endless Night Vampire Ball at the House of Blues.
Rousing Chimera!
Another year has passed and once again the Family celebrated its Rousing Chimera Festival, a day of personal reflection, family bonding and transformation. This year was marked by a challenge to 'step up' as two of our senior members stepped away on extended sabbaticals.
Lady Aislin on Sabbatical
Lady Aislin is currently on extended Sabbatical leave, as of October 1st. She is on a leave from all house business. Any queries should be directed to the other senior house members: Herr Wulfsunus, Lady Sequanna and Deacon Gray
Madame X on Sabbatical
Madame X is currently on extended Sabatical leave, as of November 17th. Madame will be away from the internet and phone and is on leave from all house business. Any Queries should be directed to Herr Wulfsunus.

Spotlight On - Kitra Caste
The House of the Dreaming has designed The Six-fold Image of the Kitra, a standard of service, similar to the code of Ethics of the medical professions and the ways of the nurturer. The Image of the Kitra is the way of the loving healer. It puts emphasis on service, pleasure, sanctuary, sharing spirit, etiquette, expression, and self-sacrifice.

Interview with a Kitra with Alterra Von Feuers
This interview was conducted with Alterra Von Feuers, one of the distinguished Kitra of the House of the Dreaming and author of the books Bad Polka and one of the collaborating authors in More Frightening Than Fiction.
What does the Kitra road means to you personally?
“In reality I did not chose this road, it chose me. My past lives are a huge influence in what I have become today. In one particular ancient time I was a Kitra of a high priestess. Concubine ,healer and fulcrum for energy work in temple rituals. Prized for my abilities in counseling and healing the term 'Slave ' held an entirely different meaning from what tends to come to peoples’ minds . I harbor many of the qualities of a Kitra and have become very adept at using them. It is the embodiment of healing, counseling and energy work. Kita should have a specialty(s) in some part of their chosen path. Be it healing, such as Reiki, Herbalism, and massage. Art in performance, painting and entertaining. There is a certain allure of beauty in the beacon about a Kitra. A Counselor that listens and offers support and comfort to the family... things of this nature."Are there any common misconceptions you can think of for your road?
“I believe the Kitra road is highly misconstrued to what we are and do. The first and hugely drawn misconception is we are house donors and slaves of a sort. "Blood dolls" I heard one arrogant person once speak of Kitra. I found that amusing as I did, disturbing as I am a sanguine vampire and have donors of my own. We are accused of being over sensitive whiners and rather ignorant to the reality of Vampirism. It is true we have a highly sensitive nature as many of the Kitra road are archetypical of being empathic and finely tuned to emotion and energy around us. It tends to make us more high strung and sometimes vulnerable. We are not to be confused with black swans who are not an actual part of the road nor are they vampires. We serve as an important part of the road system and must willingly sacrifice certain parts of ourselves for the house to function correctly. Kitra should hold the air of refinement, humility and wisdom to be coveted and protected by the house family.”What duties do you perform in the house to satisfy that Road's demands?
“ I offer energy and service in several aspects. I am the energy transference in ritual. Taking the flow of energy raised and placing it into whatever part of the ritual is required. I offer self in energy and counseling to house members in hopes of helping and comforting when possible. I offer hospitality with others we met to establish contact and make connections for the house when we are on trips and gatherings. Also offering energy in different forms to house members as they would need. Service, love, energy, pleasure, creativity and celebration are 'the six fold image' of a true Kitra, and our oath."What about outside the house?
“I am working on several degrees of Reiki mastership. Usi Rieki being my established first form. I am working on different levels combining Tibitian Reiki with magickal aspects as well. I am avidly studying Herbalism in connection to nutrition in healing and well being. Always a student of energy conduction and manipulation. Working with animals and using Reiki to see the affects on our furry friends in my profession and at home with the dogs I raise and show. Entertaining at home is always a pleasure, being an Absinthuer and enjoying the occasional social event. Traveling and meeting people are a large part of my yearly agenda.”Thank you Alterra for you time, energy and wisdom.
